Additional Information about the Instructors:

Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene is a certified yoga and pilates instructor and a personal trainer with ten years experience in the fitness industry.  Additionally, she is a burlesque performer and instructor and teaches students throughout both Kansas and Missouri.  Magdalene believes that every body type is beautiful and capable of both internal and external strength.  Her teaching philosophy is to honor her students as they are, working with their individual strengths to accomplish their goals. Magdalene works and performs in Kansas Cityhttp://www.facebook.com/kccabaret

Bellatrix

Bellatri Ali has been belly dancing for a little over 6 years in Pavlov’s Hips, one of Kansas City’s premier belly dance troupes. Before finding belly dance, Bella was a Lighting Designer for live theatre for over a decade, earning her Master’s Degree in this field. Her many years of lighting dance performances (and befriending drag queens) have found their way to her expansive makeup case; little did she know that her experience would someday translate to belly dance! After speaking with many local belly dancers, Bella knew that she could (and should!) share this knowledge with her fellow dancers. After all, your costume should not stop at your neck!

Luna Breeze

Brie Blakeman (Luna Breeze) has been teaching beginner to advanced hula-hoop classes in Kansas City and internationally since 2006, loving every step of the journey. Besides being a knowledgeable instructor, Luna truly enjoys teaching. She is a born instructor who loves the challenge explaining different techniques for different learning styles making her teaching style accessible and systematic. She considers herself(based off positive feedback from students) patient, encouraging, understanding and fun!

She has taught at two dance studios, one yoga studio, one gym, one elementary school and two circus centers. She currently teaches at Quixotic Performing Arts School, and tours to several renowned Hula-Hoop conventions every year.

The material in any of Luna’s classes has been acquired through personal experience training in yoga, dance and circus arts. Accredited studios she has trained with include San Francisco Circus Center (CA), Boulder Circus Center (CO), Maya Yoga (MO), Yoga Tree (CA), City In Motion Dance Theater (MO), and Quixotic Fusion (MO), The rest of what she has learned has been acquired through books, research, and the simple act of trial, error, experimentation and fearless play.

Luna continues to immerse herself in studies of dance, acrobatics, yoga, conditioning and all things circus. Her days are filled with managing her company, training for performance and studying the human body to insure that her students and she advance efficiently, safely and happily whether performer or hobbyist!

For over 16 years, Cyreigna has worked and studied to master this dance and bring it to others. Through her performances and classes, Cyreigna strives to teach the full stregnth, friendship, and unity found in this dance. Cyreigna became Kansas' Premier Fatchance Bellydance® Sister Studio in 2011 and is proud to call Carolena Nericcio her mentor.  She only wishes to plant the seed that Carolena has given her and watch it grow.

Her dance company name, Irie Tribal, is derived from the Rastafarian saying, 'Irie,' which stands for 'I Respect I Eternally,' and is a word that conveys hope and happiness--exactly the emotion Cyreigna endeavors to create through ATS®
